I am so honored at the number of individuals who feel drawn towards my services and offerings; and because of this, I feel it's only right to provide a proper introduction.
My name is Marissa Bing, and I am kind of jack-of-all-trades. I received my B.A. in Theatre, am a lifelong and self-taught singer, music producer, dancer, teacher, writer, life coach mentor, fitness enthusiast, corporate climbed trainer, astrologer, and intuitive.
I'm an Aries Sun, and the rest may or may not be a mystery - I often slip up and mention it somewhere or another my Moon and Rising, not to mention other planets. I tend to fear giving additional personal astrology information out, because I understand how too revealing it all is; but then I realized most people out here don't actually have enough knowledge to discern what it all means. So if you are one of the few who understand why I say it's revealing enough to share this much...you get it. If you do in fact decide to take me up on my classes or book a reading with me, I often will reveal any parts of your chart that I share with you.
My background in Astrology began early 2016. Fittingly enough, as life tends to be, I was about to hit a rock in the road and the car I call life was about to careen over a cliff. Perfect timing for Astrology to enter my life. I didn't know much. For a bit I didn't know much. Even know, with how much I know, it's still not much compared to the vast amount of information out there. But especially at this time - I certainly knew little to nothing. Zilch. But I loved learning about myself. I always have.
I received my very first software-written, cookie-cutter-recipe copy of my chart from one of those free websites. And I was astonished at how much information was not only out there in the Astro world, but how much I resonated with bits and pieces.
But lets be real. Life was coming down hard on me. And with our society so prone to negative-bias, I was honestly looking for something to tell me I was born with misfortune, and that life was difficult, and blah blah blah. I'm not saying my life was easy by any means, nor is my chart filled with grandeur and blessings; but it serves no purpose to sit in the muck of our past or pain. We must heal. We must release. We must stand up. We must move forward. All the same, the validation was perfect - exactly what I needed. Because as much as we should move forward and release, we must also mourn and grieve. And the validation I received allowed for me to do just that. From what I understand, life isn't meant to be an easy ride. Else we wouldn't grow.
Like many, I started exploring more signs outside of my own, specifically the signs of people I thought were hot or cool or funny. I started casually talking about what I was learning about Astrology through my random online searches. I realized how much I wanted to help others with the insights I had. Fortunately, I had the right mind to actually learn about the topic, to dive in deep to the core of Astrology for further understanding, before making any decisions on starting a company.
I am the kind of person who loves having certifications and credits before tossing my name as something. If I call myself something, you can rest assured that I didn't do a surface level check up- I dug the frick in. Around late 2018 and early 2019 I was feeling the pull and call to start making money off of what I was learning. But I had this intuitive feeling that I shouldn't. That I still actually knew SHIT. And again- I'm so happy I followed that feeling. Because I didn't really know anything back then. I look back on the knowledge (all knowledge I had gained from reading free websites and cook-book interpretations on the web) that I had, and I feel embarrassment for passing that information to others in my casual conversations. Feeding into the stereo types and stigmas. By this point, I hadn't only done website checks for research; I had also taken a good number of random courses offered by social media figures.
In a lot of the courses, I always found some GOOD nuggets of truth. But in a lot of them, I felt that there was a lot of biasedness. And this is where I learned that we must be critical of who we choose as our teacher (thus my wanting for you to get to know me). Because Astrology, with all of it's technicalities and complexities, is also a lot of personal interpretation. I can sit here and describe Neptune for an hour, and then describe Aries for an hour, but it is up to your understanding, and intuition for how to mix the two concepts together.
I realized in most of the courses I participated in, or even the info on websites, I was constantly asking - WHY. Why is Leo self-absorbed? Why Mercury called Mercury? Why is Virgo OCD? Eventually, with finally discovering a pathway to actual enlightenment on the topic, I read a good million books written by world-recognized astrologers and understanding *finally* struck. I finally understood the WHY. I finally understood that a lot of the material out there is stereotypical, and not true to heart of the sign archetype. But like all stereotypes, it originates from specific characteristics the signs have.
It's like how if you look up Mercury Retrograde, and more often than not you'll just get a list of what will happen to you (car accidents, technological breakdowns, etc.). I was sitting there scream WHY? And fortunately for you, I discovered. There are reasons.
These lists of what "will" occur during Mercury Retrograde...First off, there is no "WILL OCCUR." If your chart is activated by the Mercury transit, then yeah, you are going to feel Mercury Retrograde. But if your chart is not activated, then you likely will be impacted by the people who are affected by Mercury Retrograde, and not so much experiencing it personally. Second off, these itemized occurrences expressed are possibilities, though your experience may vary; but these popular Mercury Retrograde events stem from the tendency to be so inwardly focused (what I like to call - in your head, stuck in the thoughts, and head chatter), that outer awareness dims, and suddenly you are more prone to making a mistake on the road, or forgetting to charge your phone, or express yourself clearly and concisely.
So when we look up Mercury Retrograde, in an ideal world we would find a thorough explanation of what we will experience personally (in connection to mind, body, and soul); the origin of what happens during a Mercury Retrograde cycle. And then we would read possible occurrences AND how they relate to Mercury being Retrograde. But I suppose this is the kind of information that people pay for. Which is why it isn't spreading like wild fire, but instead the more surface level interpretations are in high numbers.
And truthfully, a lot of people don't quite care to dig too deep, so surface level information may be just enough for what they need. And there isn't too much harm in that. I cross my fingers that all of those who are very passionate about Astrology, as I am, will take the time to move beyond free website information and dig in deep to the world of Astrology before sharing their understanding as fact.
I'm a very thorough person, and curious to an annoying degree. If you know your stuff, you can probably recognize another sign heavily within me based on what I've written so far :)
I'll admit, the signs I have I practically wear on my sleeve. Any sign in my chart, you can see so easily within me. And no, my first house isn't filled with planets. I just tend to express my planets in their signs rather easily.
A little more information - I have a huge smile, I am always smiling, and often always laughing. I am very sympathetic, and quite empathic. I'm very sensitive to energy, quite outgoing, easy to speak with, often sarcastic, and more often than not to the point and direct. I pride myself on my use of words and communication, and I am largely creative.
My goal with Astrology is to empower every indivudal. I don't just want to *tell* you who you are, I want to empower you to discover who you are. I never give definites, and I often will keep things rather open ended because it isn't for me to decide your fate - that's your choosing.
I practice Psychological Astrology (Tropical), and often am functioning with Equal House System and Whole Sign House System.
My passion is to help cultivate other's understandings so that they can better explore themselves. Having an outsider can certainly open the eyes to various pieces of information; but digging into your own psyche is a power that everyone should have access too. And that can come by learning Astrology.
If you choose to work with me, I know you will gain an understanding you didn't hold before. I'm here to help you validate your experience, help you understand that you are capable of anything you aspire towards, and that even the hardest moments have their purpose. It's up to you to find the specific answers - the whys, and how comes. I'm just a hand that helps guide you towards that point. And until I feel the message to stop, that will forever be my purpose as an Astrologer.
I truly cannot wait to meet with you. Please let me know if you have any questions!
I am here!
Marissa
